Shivaji University, Kolhapur( SUK), established in 1962, is a state university located at Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India. The university, with a lot spread over 853 acres, is named after Chhatrapati Shivaji, author of the Maratha Empire. The varsity has an overall NIRF 2020 ranking of 151 in India, has entered NAAC Grade A, and offers Graduation, Post Graduation, and Doctoral degrees in Technology, Business Administration, and Science. Admissions to these programs are both Merit and Entrance grounded. Admissions in Shivaji University are accepted on the base of Merit as well as Entrance Examinations. 

Undergraduate admissions are carried out on the base of merit in aspirants ’ 10 2 examinations, except for the B.Pharm program and B.Tech., where scholars are named on the base of their MHT CET entrance test.B.Tech. applicants from outside Maharashtra have to clear JEE Main for the same.

Operations for postgraduate courses are accepted purely via entrance examinations. Scholars need to clear GATE( forM.Tech.), MAH CET( for MBA), and entrance conducted by the varsity for MCA and M.Sc to get named.

Aspirants seeking admission in Ph.D. courses are named on the base of merit attained through the entrance test conducted by the university. Those who have good UGC- CSIR- NET/ SLET/ SET/ GATE/ PGDTE./ BET/ GPAT examination don’t have to appear for the entrance examinations. Similar aspirants will be directly called upon for the interview round.

Barr. Balasaheb Khardekar Knowledge Resource Center It’s one of the leading university libraries in Southern Maharashtra, India. It caters to the academic requirements of scholars, faculty and other stoner groups of university and callers from other universities and institutes.The library has over2.9 lakhs of published documents and it subscribes to over 283 public and transnational journals.

Boys and Girls caravansaries With an inclusive approach, the University has made a policy decision of furnishing hotel installation to all the girls who wish to mileage the installation, taking into consideration the pastoral background of the scholars who wish to take up the advanced education at University. It also has three completely furnished and commodious boys ’ caravansaries on its lot.

Appasaheb Pawar Vidyarthi Bhavan( Earn and Learn Scheme) It facilitates staying arrangements for nearly 220 boys and girls. These indigent scholars are handed free lodging and boarding in return for working on the University lot( diurnal 3 hours).

Work On Demand Scheme It provides work to any pupil willing to work and for that he she would get some fiscal support(Rs. 15/- per hour). This was introduced to help the pupil powerhouse due to profitable problems.

Health CentreThe Health Center located on the lot provides all necessary medical installations to the members of the University staff and scholars. It’s a well-equipped center with sophisticated instruments similar a Hematology analyzer, a completely automatic Biochemistry analyzer, High frequencies-ray machine, etc.

Sports Complex The University has a huge sports complex, with belvederes, apartments and a Gymnasium available for rehearsing, guiding and conducting different sports conditioning. The Complex has Athletics Track, Basketball Cement Court, Cricket Ground, Kho- Kho Ground, Hockey Ground, etc.
