KAVIKULGURU KALIDAS SANSKRIT UNIVERSITY 

Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, Nagpur was established by the efforts of Shri P.V. Narasimha Rao (Former Prime Minister of India), Late Shri Sudhakarrao Naik and Dr Shrikant Jichkar on September 18, 1997. It is a State University recognized by the UGC, under Act of 1956 & a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). A total of 56 colleges fall under the jurisdiction of the University. It is situated at Mauda Road, Ramtek, Nagpur (District), Maharashtra. 

The Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University came in 1997. It is a school dedicated to the advancement of Sanskrit which is thought to be to be one of the most ancient languages in the world. The goal that the university has is to impart ideal values, and attitudes, to advance scientific research and the ethos of the Indian culture. It is linked with “Sanskrit for Future”. The purpose of the college is “Sanskrit for all” which means education should offers quality education and create a holistic character of youth. The College has made the commitment to achieving recognition at the national and international levels to train leaders in education.

Bachelors: Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University offers three years of full-time, full-time Bachelor’s Degrees with the BA in Prog. B.Com. Prog.

About Campus:

The University has multi-campuses with its the main campus located at Ramtek which is 50 km away from Nagpur city. The other campus is located at the Waranga. All the administrative and academic departments are working from Ramtek Campus. In the Waranga Campus. Now the construction work has started in tje Waranga Campus. In Waranga, University is going to set up an International Study Centre. 

The Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University was established on 18^th September 1997 at the Ramtek, which is a township in Nagpur district. It was selected because it is connected to the name of the great poet of the world Kavikulaguru Kalidas. The University has established five faculties viz. 

·         Veda – Vidya Sankaya

·         Sanskrit Languages and Other than the Sanskrit language.

·         Indian Religion, Philosophy and Culture.

·         Ancient Indian Science and Humanities.

·         Education and Other Branches of Learning.

Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, the only Sanskrit University in the state of Maharashtra is the unique in nature and is entirely different from all the existing Sanskrit Universities in academic nature. The other Sanskrit Universities cater for traditional learning in Sanskrit like Veda, Vedanta, Vyakarana, Nyaya, and Mimamsa Dharmashastra, Sahitya etc. While Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University has innovative academic programme and syllabus having modern subjects associated with the traditional Sanskrit. On one hand, the courses emphasize on modernity and on the other hand they strive to the preserve traditionality. Most of the courses of K.K. Sanskrit University are consultancy-oriented. The University has special emphasis on the Science and Technology in ancient India as preserved in the Sanskrit texts.
