Gauhati University
Gauhati University or also known as GU is
the oldest university in North-East India. It was established in the year
1948. It is located in Jalukbari, Gauhati, it was moved to this campus in
the year 1955-56. The University is accredited grade ‘A’ by the National
Assessment and Accreditation Council.
Gauhati University has 45 post-graduate
departments, IDOL (Institue of Distance and Open Learning), a constituent
college for Engineering and law. More than 360 colleges are affiliated to GU.
The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked Gauhati University
64th in India in the Overall Category and 46th in University
Category in 2022.

GU Admission Procedure
Admission in Gauhati university through
done through different entrance test. Students taking admission in any of the
affiliated colleges are also obliged to give the entrance examination for
admissions. No student shall be exempted from giving entrance examination.

Library:
The library at the Bodoland University,
also known as the Padma shri Madaram Brahma central library has a vast
collection of books, journals, periodicals, magazines and the CD/DVDs for the
students and the staff. The library has implemented the library management
system software SOUL 2.5 with the barcode based circulation system. The library
also has a digital collection of e-journals and the internet facilities.
Health care centre :-
: The Medical Department of the Bodoland
University came into force in the year 2013 with two of staff nurses and one pharmacist. Now, one
medical officer and one ward boy are also get included in the medical team,
which are render treatment and medical related support to the students and
staff of the Bodoland University.

university also has a canteen which provides nutritious and the quality food at
affordable rates to the staff and students.
