Gangadhar Meher University

Gangadhar Meher University was established in 1944 as Sambalpur College, the name of the institution was changed to Gangadhar Meher College in 1949 after the name of the outstanding Oriya minstrel. It was upgraded to a university in 2015, and has been renamed as Gangadhar Meher University. 

On the base of its academic character and its quality of institutional operation and responsive executive structure, the autonomy of this institution was extended by the UGC. Further, the institution was linked as the “ College with implicit for excellence( CPE) ” by the UGC in the session 2004- 05. The institution added another feather in its cap when it was accredited by the NAAC with an “ A ” grade in the session 2015- 16 in recognition of its excellent performance.

The University offers courses under regular and tone- backing orders, which consists of courses for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Research position for different disciplines of Science, trades and Commerce. It also provides Professional courses for BBA, MCA, BCA, MBA, B, Ed and Computer wisdom for furnishing a wider occasion for scholars. 

Admission in all the courses is given on the merit. The selection in MBA( offline) will be done by the score attained by the seeker in the OJEE entrance test followed by OJEE comforting. For MBA in Financial Management, whose admission is through an online gate, the selection will be done on the base of marks attained in the career as well as marks in the entrance test.

For UG courses, admission is given on the base of merit of class 12

For MA & M.Sc. Selection is done on the base of the Entrance test conducted by the University, along with the qualifying marks in the applicable discipline.

The selection In MBA( offline) will be done by the score attained by the seeker in OJEE entrance test followed by OJEE comforting. For MBA in Financial Management, whose admission is through online gate, the selection will be done on the base of marks attained in the career as well as marks in the entrance test.

For Ph.D. admission is given on marks in the entrance test, followed with a particular interview or viva voice

How to Apply?

Campaigners need to fill the Online operation form and that will be available in www.gmuniversity.ac.in. For each program( each Honours/ core option) campaigners are needed to fill up the operation form separately.

For making operation to each UG courses, the campaigners has to pay the specified quantum( INR 300 for under graduate courses INR 500 for Post graduate courses,M.Phil courses and Ph.D courses) through Bank Draft, drawn in favor of the” Comptroller of Finance,G.M. University, Sambalpur” outstanding at Sambalpur. The filled in online generated operation form with bank draft has to be submitted by hand in the university counter or to be transferred by Speed Post/ Registered Post at” The Registrar,G.M. University, AMRUTA VIHAR, FATAK, BADHARAJA SAMBALPUR, ODISHA- 768004”

GMU Placements

The training and Placement Cell has been established to act as a facilitator for the scholars through furnishing career decision openings and places. This will help the scholars to develop their confidence and work experience to have a better earning in life.

The Placement Cell publicizes information about the employment openings and arranges per- placements, conversations, interviews and other required effects for the company and the scholars. They give their all possible support to the scholars to have a well settled placement job according to the scholars capacity.

GMU literacy

Literacy are handed to the meritorious scholars under government and state schemes. Also the literacy for reticent orders like SC, ST, OBC, Disabled are handed from time to time by the council administration and operation. Fiscal support is handed to the scholars who are from the economically weaker section of the society.

GMU Faculty

Faculty members are well good and well clued with their subjects. They’re helpful and give proper guidance to the scholars who are there in terms getting a better understanding and a better occasion for disquisition and experience. GMU installations

Library College has an ultramodern Library equipped with all the ultramodern day installations that the scholars requires for a better literacy and understanding. It has accommodated a total collection of around,0000 books and numerous different journals Magazines Audio- Visual records for impaired scholars Cassettes and numerous other coffers both for the scholars and faculty members of the University.

Caravansaries College has separate accommodation installation for boys and girls with a mess that provides a good quality food with all the introductory installations of cabinetwork, common apartments, sanitation etc. 

Canteen installation is handed for the scholars to have home lile experience of food and terrain. Members are appointed who regularly keeps a check on the quality and volume of food that the scholars and other tutoring and non tutoring staffs are handed by the canteen staffs.

Transport Transportation installation is also handed to the scholars to have safe trip to and from the council. 

Wi- Fi The lot has a Wi- Fi installation to give a easy access to information to all the scholars and faculty.

Other Installation includes Computer lab where the Computer systems are placed for different courses and different demand. Scholars are allowed to access the computer for their literacy and understanding purposes. Scholars Counselling cell is also created for the scholars better understanding of internal and emotional demand. The cell members take a care of these issues that can hinder the scholar's pretensions and end of life towards a better future. Sports and Games are always encored in the University towards a better physical fitness and good of the scholars.
