The Dharmsinh Desai University [DDU], instituted at the Nadiad, is one of the most prospering universities of Gujarat. The University was set up by the Shri Dharmsinh Dadubhai Desai in the year 1968. The University has been Ranked in the Band of 101-160 by the NIRF(National Institutional Ranking Framework) . The beloved Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr. H. M.Desai, has also been awarded with Padma Shri by the President of India.

Today, DDU offers some of world-class & Graduate, Postgraduate, and as well as Doctoral courses in Technology, Dental Science, Pharmacy, Medical Science, and Mgmt. & Info. Science. Admission at DDU to all the courses are entrance-based. Applicants are required to check their eligibility for the desired course.

DDU is also very popular for the campus placements of students by most of prestigious organizations such as Amazon, Infosys, TCS, Reliance Industries, ISRO, Tech-Mahindra & BYJU and many more. Every year scholarships are also distributed to the needful students, based on merit, and merit cum means. The faculty at DDU has an experience of more than 55 years in education which has been maintained the superiority of the University in the past years.

DDU Admission Process

For Admission to various courses are offered by the Dharmsinh Desai University [DDU], the guidelines of the university are to be followed. The process of admission to the different courses is enlisted below:-

For admission into the B.Tech courses, candidates will have to appear for the GUJCET. Once qualified, candidates will be called up for the counseling process, conducted by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC). Allotment of seats will be completely based on the GUJCET score and the branch choice made by the candidate.

For admission into M.Tech courses, candidates will have to appear for the GATE Examination or, Gujarat Common Entrance Examination (GUJCET). Students are selected based on the score obtained in the following Examination.

For admission to the various management courses such as M.B.A and M.C.A. students need to appear for CMAT (Common Management Admission Test). Based on the score of the students in the exam, the merit list of the selected students is prepared. Students can fill the application form available on the University website.

For admission in Pharmaceutical Science courses students need to qualify the GUJCET Examination. Only qualified students; will be registered for counseling and the other documentation processes.

Students willing admission to the MBBS course need to appear for the NEET examination. Their selection is purely based on their obtained NEET score.

DDU Placements

Healthy Placement Records of the previously passed out students is one of the main reasons that students are  prefer DDU over others. The University is known for its standard and quality of education that is are provided to the students. Around 80% of the students get placed in the top of multinational companies.

The Highest Package of the University was 16 LPA and the lowest was 3.5 LPA. And the average package every year is around 4.88 LPA. A large number of students got an internship in the Nirma Company also.

DDU Scholarships

Every year 4 students are awarded Rs. 26,000 based on Merit and merit cum means basis at DDU. If the students fulfill the basic requirements, they students keep on receiving the scholarship up to 4 years.

“DDU Alumni Association Scholarship Fund” has been established under which any of individual or organization willing to help the financially backward students can come forward. Till now, many of the ex-students of the have come forward for “Vidya Dan”. If  anyone willing to help  can draw a DD in favor of the DDU Alumni Association

DDU Facilities

DDU is Fully-fledged with all the basic required are amenities. Some of the best facilities provided by the university are mentioned below:-

Environment – The environment of the University is made to develop for students in all fields. Not only studies but also a large number of co-curricular activities are also conducted in the university throughout to the year. This ensures the all-around development of the students.

Teaching faculty – The teaching faculty is highly-educated and experienced due to which they make the learning experience better for students. Student are commitment is guaranteed through meetings, courses, and workshops.

Library – The well-developed library along with the web gives access with to a lot of e-journals, and books. Additionally, all the latest books and journals are present offline which is around more than 58,000+ books that can be accessed by the faculty and students for any time.

Hostel – The hostel facility is provided by the university to both boys and the girls with all basic amenities. But since seats are limited students are selected accordingly.

Sports – Sports activities are conducted every year for the involvement of students in sports activities also. All sports grounds are maintained and are equipped with all the necessities.

Laboratories – All the Labs are kept up and are refreshed with the new up-and-coming machines.
