Central University of Andhra Pradesh 

Central University of Andhra Pradesh holds a special place in Indian University System. It was born out of a promise that was made by the Government of India to fulfil the aspirations of the people of Andhra Pradesh on the eve of the bifurcation of the erstwhile composite state of Andhra Pradesh into Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The University was established in year 2018 in the district headquarters town of Anantapur in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh. The Region has immense historical significance as it forms the part of the Vijayanagara Empire ruled by the majestic king Sri Krishnadevaraya, among others. The folklore of the region is richly filled with the stories of Sri Krishnadevaraya’s people-centric rule and the several welfare measures. That apart the region is also called for its mineral deposits and salubrious climate of the Deccan Plateau. The region is also known for its sericulture and horticulture crops. As a feather in the cap the global auto major KIA started its operations in a green field project, just 60 KMs away from the Anantapur city. Further Ananthapuramu is also a prominent educational hub with the higher educational institutes such as Sri Krishnadevaraya university, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Government Medical College and a century old Government Arts College, apart from a host of the engineering colleges. 

The establishment of the Central University of Andhra Pradesh heralds a new era in the sphere of higher education. With innovative study programs which are socially and culturally relevant, the university is poised for rapid growth in the years to come. Transforming candidates into knowledgeable and responsible citizens of the nation through value based education with an emphasis on interactive learning coupled with hands-on experience is the hallmark of this new university. Accordingly, the university envisages offering demand-driven multi-disciplinary study courses focusing on experiential learning through several short and long term vocational courses in active collaboration with the industry. 

The university in course of time will also roll out the Study India Program to cater to the needs of foreign students with academic grades or credits transfer options. 

MA English Programme

MA in English Language and Literature is one of the 6 programmes started by CUAP in year 2018.The study programme offers a distinctively innovative curriculum that helps the candidate gain a thorough knowledge of the English Language and Literature. It also encourages the candidate to acquire skills in the areas of critical reading and effective writing and reflect on the various nuances of language and literature. The programme offers a varied and distinctive range of areas of the study, including Morphology and Syntax, Semantics and Pragmatics, Sociolinguistics, Postcolonial Literatures, and the Cultural Studies, and thus enables the candidate to explore the variety and richness of the English language and literatures in English from cultural, linguistic, national, and the international perspectives. The study programme is designed to help the candidates enhance their career opportunities as well. 

MA Telugu Programme at Glance

Central University of Andhra Pradesh was established in August 2018 at Ananthapuramu with 2 P.G. and 4 U.G. study Programmes. M.A (Telugu) Programme is one among them. The M.A.,Telugu programme for two years has been running successfully with well-qualified and well-experienced faculty. This study programme gives a wonderful experience in the field of Telugu Language and Literature to the candidates with excellent Library facilities with the continuous availability of E-Book and E-Journal resources. 

Outcomes of the study Programme: M.A. Telugu Programme is designed to make its candidates know about the significant history of the Telugu Language and Literature and its relevance to contemporary society. The study programme gives scope to its candidates to be excelled in comparative and translation studies. Creative writing and report writing skills are nurtured to candidates during their learning. The soft programme not only enhances language and literary skills among candidates, but also provides employment opportunities and benefits in teaching, media, tourism, theatre arts, singing, dancing, script writing for Radio, T.V. Programmes and social media, typing, research, creating YouTube channels etc. The study Programme intends to develop analytical skills, critical thinking skills and reasoning ability among candidates. 

B.Sc. (Hons) Economics and M.Sc. Economics Programmes

The candidates of B.Sc. (Hons) in Economics will study Mathematical Methods, Statistical Methods, Econometrics, Indian Economy and Development Economics for 2 semesters each; Microeconomics and Macroeconomics 3 semesters each; Indian Financial System, Money & Capital Markets, Public Finance, Environmental Economics, Industrial Economics, Agricultural Economics, Research Methodology, Effective Communication Skills for 1 Semester each, Computer Skills including R Programming for 5 Semesters as per the course structure. In addition, the candidates of B.Sc. (Hons) will have to learn at least 5 MOOC Courses as per the new syllabus and have to submit Project Work Report at the end of the sixth Semester. 

The candidates of M.Sc. in Economics will study Microeconomics, Macroeconomics & Econometrics for 2 semesters each; Mathematical Methods, Statistical Methods, Public Economics, Industrial Economics, Financial Economics, Economics of Development & Growth, Energy Economics, Game Theory and Information, Monetary Economics, International Economics, Monetary Economics, Research Methodology, Indian Economic Development and Policy, Environmental Economics, Environmental Economics, Labour Economics, Computer Applications in Economics, Time Series Applications as per the course structure. In addition, the candidates of M.Sc. Economics will have to learn at least 4 MOOC Courses as per the new syllabus and have to submit Project Work Thesis at the end of the 4 Semester. 

Both B.Sc. (Hons) Economics and M.Sc. Economics graduates are in great demand for Job Opportunities in the National Level organisations such as Central Statistical Organizations, State Directorates of the Economics and Statistics, National Sample Survey Organization, Economic Analysis & Policy Wings of the Reserve Bank of India and Public Sector Banks, Economic Research Institutions like IGIDR, Mumbai, NIPFP, New Delhi, ISEC, Bengaluru & NIRD, Hyderabad, CESS, Hyderabad; Analysis or Forecasting Firms, Stock Exchanges, Financial Information Firms, Banks or Credit Unions, International Trade Companies, Manufacturing Firms, Statistical Research Firms and much more. Both B.Sc. (Hons) Economics and M.Sc. Economics graduates also have job opportunities in fields like accounting, banking, finance, sales, stock market, & many government sectors from national and international institutes globally such as UN Organizations, IMF and World Bank as the Data Analysts and Economists. Further, M.Sc. Economics graduates can apply for the UGC NET Exam and if qualified they can be admitted for the Ph.D. programmes and then Post-Doctoral Fellow under Research Programmes in addition to the Teaching Faculties in Economics in various Universities or Higher Education Institutions. 

Undergraduate and Postgraduate study Programmes of Political Science 

The study programme of Political Science represents a dynamic collective of the responsive and responding human resources drawn from the experimented, enriched and endeared temples of learning from the India who have designed and delivering an honours to undergraduate candidates and a masters course to postgraduate candidates in Political Science, reflecting the depth and density of the different established and emerging domains of the discipline. Study Programmes are structured to equip learners with the appropriate knowledge, skills and values of the discipline and emphasis is on candidate-centric approach of learning and will prepare the candidates for life. It vividly elaborates its nature and the outcomes that are to be accomplished by studying the courses. Since society is a laboratory of social sciences, the candidates are motivated and supported to engage themselves with the society in a structured manner (Internships, projects) and source knowledge from living experiences and enrich the learning. And a blended mode of the learning coupled with flexible pedagogical practices for inclusive and innovative learning is adopted. 

B Voc Tourism and Travel Management

University Grants Commission that is UGC scheme on skill development based higher education as part of the college or university education led the university to introduce skill-based Bachelor of Vocation (BVoc) Degree. Bachelor of Vocation in Tourism and Travel Management is a specialised UG course for candidates who seek to acquire an in-depth knowledge and foundation in the field of tourism and travel. The study programme as per the UGC scheme and in coherence with NSQF framework, is designed with facilities for the multiple exits or entry into the programme and, depending on the skill level attained the candidate may be awarded Certificate/Diploma/Advanced Diploma or a BVoc Degree. The study programme spans over 6 semesters with a total of 180 credits. BVoc TTM programme offers 21 Discipline Core courses, 2 Discipline Specific Electives, 5 Ability Enhancement courses, 4 skill-based study courses with lab components, 5 MOOCs courses, 5 Add-on courses along with Internship and summer training projects. These study courses cover a wide range of tourism and allied industries like hospitality, airlines and events thereby widening the scope of the employment opportunities. It also trains the candidates to be capable of running an entrepreneurial organisation and managing human resources in the tourism industry. 

The study program also provides hands-on training with skills and software like Amadeus that are used in the airline ticketing and accommodation management. The study program prepares the candidates to be job ready with a complete understanding about the functioning of the tourism industry to take up the immediately available jobs. The Job roles that a candidate can expect after the course include managing travel modes, accommodation, tour programs, tour operators, travel agencies, travel consultants, airports, airlines, travel, ticketing websites, etc. Since travel is an omnipresent industry, the study program moulds the candidates to be competent to the worldwide opportunities. 

B .Voc Retail Management and IT

In pursuance of the University Grants Commission (UGC) scheme on skill development-based higher education as part of the college or university education leading to the Bachelor of Vocational (B.Voc.) Degree, the university has decided to introduce the skill education-based course degree leading to the award of the B.Voc Retail Management and the Information Technology degree. 

As per the UGC scheme and in coherence with the NSQF framework is designed with the facilities for multiple exits or entry into the study programmes and, depending on the skill level attained may be awarded Diploma or Advanced Diploma or a BVoc degree at the end of the 6 semesters programme as the case may be. It is expected that the B. Voc. The RMIT programme would enable its products to participate in the Retail activities of the country through adequate employment and entrepreneurship. 

The Programme is of total 180 credits which covers 19 Discipline core, 7 Discipline elective, 5 Ability enhancement, 7 Skill based, 5 Add on courses where main focus will be on Retail management and IT-related courses The objective of this study course is to introduce the basic concepts of retailing to the candidates. The key takeaways from the course are- understanding how a retail business works, the core issues and the challenges involved, the key terms and terminologies associated and an appreciation of the retail sector. 

This study course contains Retail and IT ideas, concepts, and real-life examples to make the learning procedure engaging and informative. The candidate population of the department is diverse, having aspirants from different parts of the country. The other main features of the course are
