Assam Women University

Assam Women’s University (AWU), established in 2013, is a public women’s university that provides courses at the UG, PG, and Diploma levels to eligible candidates. Created by the Assam Women’s University Act, 2013, the institute was the first-ever women’s college to be set up in Assam & has also been recognized by the UGC. The various courses offered at the UG level include BA and BPT, with a duration of three years. For PG programs and the college offers an MA with eight specializations, M.Sc. in Fashion Design & Technology, MCA, MBA, MTTM as well as an MLIS course. Assam Women’s University was inaugurated in the year 2013 and is a state university of Assam recognized by the UGC.

Admission to all the UG as well as the PG courses is are made on the basis of an entrance test conducted by the university itself. For the MBA and the MA programs, a group discussion and a personal interview are taken in addition to the written test conducted for the admissions. Apart from this, the university also provides diploma courses in Computer Applications, Fashion Integration Apparel, & Jewellery Design. Lastly, the institute provides many different facilities for the well-being of its students.

Assam Women’s University is a public university located in Jorhat, Assam, India. It become established by the Assam Women’s University Act, 2013 by the Assam Government. It is the first girls’ college in Assam. AWU Assam Courses

The institute provides UG, PG and Diploma programs to eligible candidates. Admission to all the courses is made purely based on merit & depends on the candidate’s score in the various written tests.

AWU Assam Admissions

The university provides an offline mode of the application procedure for which candidates must have download the form from the official website. The form needs to be submitted along with the required documents through the post or in the person. The payment of the application fee needs to be done through and Bank Challan.

Students who have passed 10+2 examination with at least 46% marks are eligible to join BA program.

The minimum eligibility requirement for admission to BPT program is candidates must have scored a minimum 505% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at a 10+2 level.

Students who have at least 46% marks in BA are considered eligible to apply for admission to MA course.

The minimum eligibility required to get admission to the M.Sc. program is candidates must have scored at least 55% marks in B.Sc. course.

To get admission an MBA course, candidates must have obtained at least 55% marks in Graduation.

For MLIS and MTTM courses, the minimum eligibility requirement is candidates must have completed a Bachelor’s Degree with not less than 46% marks.

For MCA course, the minimum eligibility requirement is candidates must have the  completed either BCA or BSC in CS or IT or a Graduation in Mathematics or Statistics with minimum 55% marks.

Admission to all the UG and PG programs is done on the basis of a written test.

For MBA and MA in Mass Communication, the university also conducts Group discussions and Personal Interviews along with the written test.

Library

The Central Library of Assam Women’s University became set up in 2014, at the time of its establishment and the university. The Central Library is positioned centrally inside a number of 150m from the university’s main gate. The library has well-stocked collections with an awesome variety. Currently, the college library has 3749 copies of textual content and reference books protecting an extensive variety of subjects.
